Guwahati International Airport T2
They created a series of landmark green installations at the Guwahati International Airport, which created iconic green spaces within the infrastructure of the said public space. Also, the installations included are capsule green walls, which created a 100 meters long live green installation, the Seven Sisters live green wall, and live green walls. It is the first-ever uniquely designed green wall, which symbolizes the identity of the region..
These installations collectively create a significant living ecosystem that is composed of over 30,000+ live plants. Every living plant plays a significant role in the improvement of air quality, humidity, and a more serene and fresh environment for the passage of the thousands of travelers who go through the airport daily.
The live green walls are intended for both indoor and outdoor use and are built with the reliability of long-term operation in an airport environment. The system has a fully automated drip irrigation system, which ensures the plants remain healthy while the system uses water efficiently. This project demonstrates a strong use of sustainable vertical landscaping within an airport environment.
